Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated: January 8, 2026
Research-Driven Family participates in affiliate marketing programs. This disclosure explains how these relationships work and how they affect you.
What Are Affiliate Links?
Some links on this Site are “affiliate links.” When you click these links and make a purchase, we may receive a small commission from the retailer or service provider.
Important: You pay the same price whether you use our affiliate link or go directly to the retailer. The commission comes from the retailer, not from you.
Why We Use Affiliate Links
Running a website requires time and resources. Affiliate commissions help offset these costs and allow us to continue producing free, in-depth research and content.
Our Commitment to You
Independence First
Affiliate relationships never influence our recommendations. Our process is:
- Research first: We research and test products/services based on our own needs
- Form conclusions: We decide what to recommend based purely on merit
- Add links after: Only after completing our analysis do we check if affiliate programs exist
If we recommend something, it’s because we genuinely believe it’s the best option—not because it pays the highest commission.
Transparency
- We disclose affiliate relationships within articles that contain affiliate links
- We will never recommend something solely because it has an affiliate program
- If a recommended product doesn’t have an affiliate program, we still recommend it
No “Pay to Play”
We do not accept payment for reviews or recommendations. If a company offered us payment to recommend their product, we would decline.
Current Affiliate Relationships
We currently participate in affiliate programs including:
- Amazon Associates: Links to books, products, and equipment
- Software/SaaS Programs: Productivity tools and software we use and recommend
This list may be updated as our relationships change.
How to Identify Affiliate Links
Articles containing affiliate links will include a disclosure notice. Affiliate links may be marked or styled differently, though this is not always the case.
Opting Out
If you prefer not to use our affiliate links:
- Simply go directly to the retailer’s website
- Search for the product name in your preferred search engine
- You’ll get the same product at the same price
We understand this choice and support it.
